I, as was most of the American public, was utterly fascinated with the colour and fashion that appeared today alongside the newly appointed President Joe Biden. While the men were dressed very nicely, it was the ladies that stood out like shining stars. First appeared Michelle Obama who was adorned in an indescribably majestic burgundy ensemble. Next came Hillary Clinton, who’s blouse was of a rich purple similar to the purple that Vice President Kamala Harris would appear in later on. And finally, arrived Dr. Jill Biden, the better half of President Joe Biden, who adorned the beautiful teal ensemble designed by the New York based brand Markarian.

All these colours, as it turns out, represents something much larger than just the coats. While blue and red are obvious symbols of American democracy, purple is the culmination of the two colours, representing bipartisanship and unity. In a sense, it is a stronger symbolization of democracy and that is exactly what the country needed today.

I, as so many of you probably have as well, spent the past couple hours searching for and purchasing the perfect coat to impersonate the breathe and power of these women, and as this is the day of celebrating being a participant of the American public, I wanted to…
