Facial Sunscreen Recommendations: Stop the White Cast!

Of the treasure trove of skincare secrets I’ve learned from my Asian aunties, the one I always share the most is to prioritise sun protection above all else. I’ve been wearing sunscreen daily and religiously since high school, and I’ve barely seen signs of aging (knock on wood 🤞🏻). Admittedly, I do supplement my sunscreen use with other products, but I truly believe it is due to the specific parameters I have for sunscreens that have enabled me to choose the best products to slow down aging.

In this article, I’ll be categorically sharing my facial sunscreen recommendations. I emphasise facial as I have different goals and concerns for the skin on my face compared to my body (I’ll be sharing body sunscreen recommendations in a different post). First and foremost, I cannot tolerate white-casting sunscreens. For those of you who don’t know, white-casting means leaving a sticky white residue on your face that makes you look like a sheet of paper. While I do appreciate seeing even coverage and the visual reassurance that my sunscreen is there, I don’t prefer the curious stares from strangers, nor do I need to look like that on a daily basis.
